What I Wish I Knew About CRUISE SHIP CASINOS Before Sailing.
The room key is your players club card. It tracks your play and is linked to the credit or debit card you are using. It only gives payout slips like on land based but you can't put physical cash in the machines in a lot of cruise lines.
I'm a "seasoned" cruiser and have a LOT of experience with cruise ship casinos, as well as a recipient of MANY comped cruises through the cruise line's reward program. I found most of the information in this video to be simply common sense, But I also would like to call a few things into question:
– First, the couple who "unknowingly" had $1500 in casino gambling charged to their stateroom account is not at all possible. In order to charge casino credit to your casino account (on the cruise line I sail on, anyway) you must enter a personalized PIN code that you set up yourself, and then specify the exact amount you want added to your stateroom account. There is NOTHING "unknowing" about it.
– Second, the cruise line's payout on slot machines is certainly lower than land-based casinos, but the approximate 5% difference in payout from Las Vegas-style casinos is calculated over the life of the machine, and its' RNG program. It would literally require millions of spins over in incredibly long period of time to realize any difference in payout.
– Third, MOST of these "warnings" are common-sense things that apply to ALL casinos.
– Lastly, While cruise lines and their casinos are typically registered in other countries, the major cruise lines (Royal Carib, Carnival, Norwegian, Princess, etc) voluntarily follow the Nevada Gaming Commission guidelines.
I'm not necessarily finding fault with this video, just trying to clarify a few things.
Yep…those free drinks & free-play get ya hooked in!! Be smart & gamble wisely!!

Most of these should be common sense.
